What difference will you make?

Working with Compassion Direct, you will help some of the most disadvantaged people in the world take the first steps towards a brighter, more sustainable future. Our current campaigns focus on raising funds to restart a food programme in Rwanda and develop sustainable solutions for Sudanese refugees, and we need urgent assistance.

What are we looking for?

We seek a volunteer with experience in some or all of the following: writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram; building strategies to increase social media following and fundraising awareness campaigns; using and setting up tools like Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc.; creating content calendars to plan social media activity. The ideal volunteer should also have or be:

  • An interest in the issues and potential of the developing world
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to understand our team’s needs
  • Question-asking skills to clarify requirements
  • An understanding of resource constraints typical of small charities and ability to work within them
  • Flexibility to work remotely within a volunteer team
What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced social media manager to collaborate with the chairman on campaigns, promotions, and information sharing. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing a social media audit to assess current pages and recommend improvements for engagement and focus areas
  2. Developing new campaigns with us
  3. Providing ongoing social media management strategies, including using centralized tools and creating content calendars
  4. Creating and sharing engaging content and graphics across channels
  5. Engaging with followers to foster interaction
  6. Managing and maintaining social media channels regularly
