At LTM, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.Overview of roleAs a member of the Volunteer Resource Team, you will play a key part in delivering the Museum's Strategy and Volunteering Strategy 2023-28 as we develop new opportunities and ways of engaging volunteers. As a member of the Volunteer Resource Team, you will coordinate the Museum's volunteer resource programme both at the Museum in Covent Garden, the Depot at Acton and any off site activities in order to meet the Museum's objectives and meet the Investing in Volunteers standards. You will ensure that the resource provided attains the highest standards for the benefit of the visitors, collections and programme participants, reflecting the Museum's aims and core values. The role will coordinate the administration, briefing, training and preparation of all volunteer resource. The volunteer resource is made up of, but not exclusively; traditional Volunteers, Work Experience, Internships and Work Placements. As the first point of call for potential and existing volunteers, future visitors, customers and stakeholders this role is crucial to the public and professional image of the Museum. The role will look to communicate with the volunteer team and look at opportunities to increase volunteer impact within the Museum. This will involve keeping up to date with best practice and demonstrating the expected Museum behaviours.You will play an active role in advocating a positive volunteering experience at LTM, including collaborating with other departments and engaging with Volunteer Management Group and other internal platforms.This role will develop the volunteering experience by delivering activities and events to support volunteer wellbeing and increase impact. The role will look to foster positive relationships with local communities to support the delivery of the Volunteering Strategy.The role does not line manage anybody but does have responsibility for the Museums volunteer team in association with the Resource manager.Key Accountabilities

• You will be expected to specialise in volunteer coordination and keep up to date in volunteer management best practice, including engagement with the heritage and charity sectors. Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers as requested by Museum managers to best meet the agreed profile, using appropriate volunteer management procedures.
• Facilitate delivery of the Museum's public events programme by sourcing and scheduling volunteers with suitable specialist knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the programme, while providing a quality cross-departmental experience. Develop and deliver the volunteering offer, including providing reciprocal visits and social opportunities. You will work with volunteers frequently, developing positive working relationships and supporting their welfare as needed. Explore new opportunities for volunteer resources and new ways of supporting programmes at the Museum through coordination with other appropriate Museum departments.
• The Volunteer Resource Coordinator will support the welfare of volunteers and carry out any other reasonable request required by the Museums management.
  
  Strong organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines, ability to prioritise complex and demanding work streams
• Strong people management skills - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships, influence behavioural change and engage with a diverse range of people.
• Experience in using Better Impact or other volunteer management software
• Creative and flexible with an innovative, customer focused approach
• Must have excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of individuals including (internal) volunteers, colleagues, customers, contractors and external stakeholders.
Knowledge
• A professional qualification or equivalent experience.
• A strong understanding of Volunteer management, practice and laws
• Understanding of the principles of visitor management and visitor excellence Detailed knowledge of IT systems including MS Office Suite. - Good knowledge of web technology and social networking
