Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Research Officer (researcher) to work across several research and service design teams at a social enterprise that offers services (social, digital, etc.) to local communities and SMEs.

What are we looking for?
  1. Experience: Prior experience in the research sector.
  2. Skills and Competence: Project coordination experience, including planning, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of activities in multi-partner, multi-country projects.
  3. Research and analysis: Ability to search and identify relevant information online and offline; persistence in seeking out difficult-to-find information; creativity in identifying new sources of information. Strong attention to detail and understanding of research methodologies.
  4. Partnership and coalition building: 3-5 years' experience working with diverse international partners and building coalitions with shared objectives and targeted outcomes.
  5. Strategic thinking: Track record of developing successful program strategies to effect change. Experience tailoring outputs for diverse international audiences and advocacy experience is an asset.
  6. Self-starter and decision-maker: Driven to make change happen, with experience in delivering high-impact work with remote supervision.
  7. Team player: Experience with remote, interdisciplinary, and culturally diverse teams. Ability to support partners and team members to achieve impact, prioritize, organize, and work independently.
  8. Communicator: Strong spoken and written English skills. Strong writing skills and interest in writing for public audiences, from briefing papers to blogs, tweets, and Facebook.
What will you be doing?

The researcher will design and conduct research studies related to discovering new, and improving existing, technologies and working practices in the relevant field. The research will also involve analyzing system needs and planning renewable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions. The hours and days for this role are flexible.
