What is a Volunteer Reception Assistant?

A Volunteer Reception Assistant at Derian House plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for visitors, including families, professionals, and supporters. They are the first point of contact and help ensure that every visitor feels comfortable.

What's involved?

  • Provide a warm & friendly reception service.
  • Answering phone calls and handling enquiries.
  • Keeping the reception and shop area tidy and well-stocked.
  • Dealing with donations, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Handling cash and card payment for shop purchases.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail.

✔ Experienced in a similar role (preferred).

Time Commitment:

Every Thursday 12.30 to 4.30pm

Training Requirements:

Full site induction & mandatory annual training will be provided

Volunteers must be aged 18yrs plus
