CEO at Impel Talent, Space Enthusiast, Investor, & Host of Podcast ️ Breaking the Chain

At Impel Talent, we believe in building high-performing teams and careers with genuine human connection. Through our global recruitment and leadership development work, we’ve seen the transformative impact of opportunity - and now we’re proud to give back through our The Robert Chapman Scholarship and wider donation programs.

We're launching a scholarship to support individuals from underrepresented or financially disadvantaged backgrounds. This scholarship celebrates the profound connection between science fiction and contemporary science, recognizing the inspirational and collaborative relationship between the two realms. Through this scholarship, we aim to honor the role of storytelling in driving creativity, innovation, and scientific exploration.

Our vision is to expand this program into a registered charity, broaden our impact globally, and launch quarterly donation programs that support aligned causes.

The Role

We are looking for a Volunteer Scholarship & Social Impact Coordinator to help us take this exciting initiative from a seed of an idea to a long-term impact program.

This is a flexible, remote-based volunteer position perfect for someone passionate about education, equality of access, and maybe even a little obsessed with space, sci-fi, or future talent pipelines.

You’ll work directly with our founders and team to:

  • Help formalise the structure of the Impel Talent Scholarship: eligibility criteria, application processes, selection framework.
  • Coordinate and track scholarship applications.
  • Assist in forming and supporting a review panel or advisory board.
  • Research and advise on the steps to transition the scholarship into a registered UK charity or charitable trust.
  • Create content for scholarship promotion (FAQs, social posts, bios of winners, etc.).
  • Build relationships with schools, universities, and partner organisations.
  • Help plan and promote quarterly donation drives to causes aligned with our values (e.g. diversity in STEM, access to education, climate resilience).
  • Research and vet potential recipient organisations.
  • Support reporting and storytelling to show impact.
  • You care deeply about access, equity, and social mobility.
  • You have some experience in education, charity, community outreach, or social media, or a strong desire to gain it.
  • You're well-organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • You're curious about how things are built—both in terms of programs and maybe even space infrastructure.
  • You're interested in the intersection of talent, storytelling, and science fiction—the future we want to build.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience launching a scholarship and building a charitable initiative from the ground up.
  • Visibility across Impel Talent’s global business and leadership team.
  • Potential to be considered for future trustee or paid roles as we grow.
  • A chance to directly influence access to opportunity and shape the future of emerging talent.

This isn’t just a volunteer gig. It’s a chance to co-create something that could support the next generation of engineers, creators, and leaders—the ones who might build the next rocket, solve the next supply chain crisis, or lead with empathy in a digital world.

If that sounds like your kind of mission—let’s build it together.
