The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefitting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Nonprofit Leadership Programme

This role offers insight into key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.

Advocacy Leadership Development - Meet with government members in your district; represent The Borgen Project at various events; mobilize individuals to contact their representatives in support of key legislation.

Fundraising Development - Learn fundraising strategies. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.

Recruitment - Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; learn about recruitment platforms and participate in interviews.

Marketing and Promotion - Pitch story ideas to media; utilize social media; develop strategies for web messaging.

Experience

No prior experience necessary. We seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty and advocating for change, regardless of GPA or background.

This is an unpaid internship; college credit is available.

Start Date

New programs begin monthly; you may choose your start month.
