Job summary

The Nelson Trust is seeking a Volunteer and Mentor Coordinator to lead recruitment, training and support for volunteers, recovery coaches and peer mentors in Gloucester. You will work closely with service users, staff and partner organisations to create meaningful volunteering opportunities that strengthen recovery journeys.

You will recruit, train and supervise volunteers, coordinate pathways, and maintain records, while travelling across Nelson Trust sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience recruiting, coordinating and supervising volunteers or volunteer programmes.
• Ability to motivate, engage and support individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
• Experience developing partnerships with external organisations.
• Strong IT skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, coordinate, train and support volunteers, recovery coaches and peer mentors across the service.
• Assess individual needs and match volunteers to placements.
• Develop volunteering pathways that help individuals gain skills and progression.
• Deliver inductions, arrange training, provide supervision and maintain development records.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local organisations to increase volunteering opportunities.
• Monitor volunteer engagement, manage budgets and expenses and produce reports.
