Our volunteer social media editors inspire people to act for butterflies and moths.
At Butterfly Conservation, we want to create a world where butterflies and moths are enjoyed by everyone, forever. We rely on social media to educate people about these beautiful creatures and how they can help them. Having a presence on social media is very important to us and a key way for us to achieve our goals.
In this role, you will work with Butterfly Conservation’s Communication Team and local volunteers. You will learn about butterflies and moths and develop social media skills in a working environment. We'd love to hear from you if you enjoy using social media, have good IT skills and are able to volunteer from home.

To promote Butterfly Conservation’s national campaigns by managing Butterfly Conservation's social media accounts and working with the Communications Team to co-ordinate publicity.
This role is active throughout the year, though our social media accounts are often more active in the summer months. The role can be carried out on any day of the week and at any time, though it works best when you can offer small amounts of regular engagement (e.g. regular posts and a daily check-in to each account). We ask you to commit a minimum of 1 hour a week. The role is typically fulfilled in under 3 hours a week. You will be asked to complete training when you start in the role and may be asked to attend other sessions as and when required. If you are aged 16 or 17, your parent may give written permission for you to volunteer without adult supervision. Please be aware that our insurance cover differs slightly for people aged 75 or over. Please contact the Volunteering Team for more information.
