What are we looking for?

The legal expertise trustee position is suited for someone with legal training and experience, whether in-house or private practice. The Board considers issues such as charity law, employment law, commercial contracts, and GDPR/data protection. Each Trustee should use their skills, knowledge, or experience to help the Board make sound decisions, scrutinize papers, lead discussions, and provide expert advice on relevant areas.

What will you be doing?

  1. Strategic: Contribute to developing and reviewing the charity’s strategic goals and objectives.
  2. Legal Expertise: Provide legal advice on contracts, employment, HR, and charity governance; manage external legal resources as needed.
  3. Governance: Ensure compliance with governing documents, charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation; make sure the Board understands its legal duties.
