We currently have an opportunity for a Volunteer Team Leader vacancy and are looking for an organized, proactive, engaging leader to support the Area Operations Manager. You will guide active volunteers and our in-house team that helps maintain, conserve, and improve the environment and heritage of the waterway network for communities and visitors. The work will focus on the canals and rivers in the Yorkshire & North East region.

Reporting to Naburn Locks, Y019, with regular travel to cover the Selby, Pocklington, and Ripon Canals & North Yorkshire Navigations. The frequency and flexibility of travel will be discussed further at the interview stage. Interview Date expected: 6th August 2024.
This exciting opportunity offers a variety of activities and tasks daily. You will be the public face of the Trust, working closely with volunteers and visitors. Your work will include routine tasks and project work, leading volunteers to work safely and efficiently, and fostering a vibrant waterway network. You will also lead and attend events to promote the Trust's work, activities, and volunteer recruitment.
The post requires working an annualized hours system, including any 5 days out of 7, statutory holidays, and being part of a 24-hour standby team for emergency cover.
