Company Description

FareShare Kent is a food redistribution charity that aims to tackle food waste and hunger by redistributing surplus food from the food industry to charities and community groups across Kent. In 2024/25, the organization redistributed over 1000 tonnes of food, providing the equivalent of over 2.38 million meals to the most vulnerable in the community. FareShare Kent relies on over 100 regular volunteers who sort and pack food, assist on deliveries, drive vans, and maintain the warehouse, helping individuals become more employable through community projects.

Role Description

• Safely driving a medium-sized van to deliver and collect surplus food
• Loading and unloading food orders, planning delivery routes, and completing essential paperwork
• Keeping the van clean, reporting any issues or accidents, and ensuring the vehicle is safe to drive
• Representing FareShare Kent in a courteous and professional manner, always accompanied by a Volunteer Driver’s Assistant

What We’re Looking For

• Full UK driving licence with low points
• Aged 21+ with at least 3 years of driving experience
• Confident driving a medium-sized van
• Comfortable with physical manual handling (loading/unloading food)
• Able to follow a Sat Nav and complete delivery paperwork
• Adaptable, flexible, and ready for the unpredictability of food rescue
• Friendly, reliable, and a great team player
• Able to follow FareShare’s health and safety procedures
