Job description

Looking for a volunteering opportunity? See the latest Scotland-wide volunteering opportunities at Volunteer Scotland. We regularly update our website with opportunities within West Lothian.

Use keywords and your postcode (e.g., EH48 1AX) to refine your search and find the right opportunity for you.

CWAS brings joy to communities across Scotland, especially for people with limited mobility, loneliness, or isolation, through the Trishaw (a specially adapted e-bike). Our volunteer cyclists, known as Pilots, provide free Trishaw rides along scenic footpaths, cycle routes, and quiet roads. Outriders cycle alongside, supporting the Pilot and engaging with passengers.

Our passengers include elderly individuals in care homes or their own homes, as well as young people and adults with disabilities or additional support needs.

Volunteers in this role enjoy outdoor activities, sharing discoveries, bringing smiles, engaging in conversations, and forming lasting friendships.

Join us for a spin in a Trishaw and discover why we love what we do! We operate in:

Aberdeen, Insch, Turriff, Westhills, Ellon, Kemnay, Portsoy, Stonehaven, Old Meldrum, Inverurie, Arbroath, Montrose, Carnoustie, Monifieth, Bute, Dunoon, Alloa, Dundee, Twechar, Musselburgh, North Berwick, Dunbar, Edinburgh, South Queensferry, Falkirk, Airth, Bo’ness, Grangemouth, Denny, Dunfermline, Lochore, Glasgow, Evanton, Cromarty, Ullapool, Fort William, Dingwall, Fortrose, Thurso, Wick, Gourock, Forres, Elgin, Largs, Isle of Cumbrae, Kilsyth, Westray, Aberfeldy, Auchterarder, Perth, Kinross, Comrie, Dunkeld, Eyemouth, Hawick, Selkirk, Galashiels, Peebles, Innerleithen, Troon, Ayr, Prestwick, Rutherglen, Stirling, Dumbarton, South Uist, Lewis & Harris, Fauldhouse, Linlithgow.

Other roles include Co-passenger (befriender), Administrator, Trishaw Mechanic, Fundraiser, and Chapter Captain (team leader).

For an informal chat about these roles, call 01324 467 272 and ask for Gillian or Christine. You can also email us by clicking "I want to volunteer" below or at info@cyclingwithoutage.scot.

Thank you!
