JOB TITLE: Volunteer CoordinatorSustain Ability Project.

POSITION AVAILABLE: 39 hours per week.

This role is permanent with 5 years funding secured through the Dormant Asset Scheme administered by The National Lottery Community Fund.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Project Manager

LOCATION: This role supports project activity in-person and online, across six localities: Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Blaenau Gwent.

Overview:

Innovate Trust are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join the Sustain Ability project as a Volunteer Coordinator. The Sustain Ability project, in partnership with ELITE Supported Employment, will work with 400 disabled people aged 16 to 30, to enable them to develop their vocational skills, awareness, knowledge and employability in terms of careers in Green Industries.

The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, train and support volunteers across the six project localities and will enable them to safely fulfil their roles; engaging with project participants, raising their awareness of the world of work and building their soft skills. The Volunteer Coordinator will oversee distinct volunteer schemes within the Sustain Ability project and will have responsibility for providing appropriate training and supervision.

You will be part of a project team and will work closely with your colleagues to meet project aims and objectives.

The project will sit within the Skills & Wellbeing department at Innovate Trust which incorporates a range of innovative projects that seek to support the skills development of people with learning disabilities and other additional needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be organised and skilled in coordinating groups of people.
  • Be committed to providing meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • Be able to manage their own tasks and work to set deadlines.
  • Be willing to embrace digital technology to achieve the aims and objectives of the department.
  • Enjoy public facing duties such as engaging with volunteers, delivering training and attending events to promote the project.
  • Enjoy working within a team to achieve project aims and objectives.
