The CFO will lead finance, funding, governance, and IT strategy to ensure sustainability, compliance, and impact. This role involves shaping policies, upholding standards, and championing responsible, collaborative leadership.

What difference will you make?

This is a voluntary position with no remuneration. Expenses are paid as agreed. Leaders and volunteers are expected to dedicate approximately 6-10 hours per week during the start-up phase, with flexibility to adjust responsibilities as projects develop. A minimum commitment of 2+ years is preferred.

What are we looking for?
  • A fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven senior financial management experience in a charity or medium/large organization
  • Operational and leadership skills, with knowledge of financial systems and reporting
  • Experience in the charity sector is a bonus
  • Strong people skills and experience leading a finance team
  • Experience with IT and governance teams is beneficial
  • Systems literacy, including online and reporting systems
  • Ability to present financial reports at a senior level
What will you be doing?

As part of The CHC Executive Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO, the CFO plays a key leadership role in delivering the organization's vision and strategy across its core projects, Collaboration for Kids (CFK) and Food Addiction Solutions (FAS). Responsibilities include:

  • Developing financial governance, IT, and compliance strategies
  • Leading strategic and operational meetings
  • Providing accurate financial reporting
  • Aligning project goals with fundraising and governance strategies
  • Advising on funding opportunities and financial viability
  • Ensuring quality assurance and compliance with regulations
  • Managing budgets, accounts, and audits
  • Maintaining Charity Commission compliance

The CFO fosters a culture of collaboration, ensuring financial and governance standards support internal operations and external credibility. This role requires strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to promote excellence and sustainability.
