Job purpose(s)
Launch, deliver and educate using the resources and strategies aimed at building and enhancing the thriving volunteer network within Amateur FA football. Providing clubs and off-field volunteers the learning and developmental support they need to effectively fulfil their roles. Additionally, support our affiliated grassroots football clubs in ensuring that they have documented all their volunteers accurately on the Club Portal.

Responsibilities
- Help retain, recruit and reward volunteers, by meeting the motivations and addressing the barriers of volunteers, whilst liaising with clubs, leagues and County FA colleagues.
- Support and co-deliver workshops targeted towards clubs and leagues to enhance their means of recruiting and retaining volunteers, plus to young adults to introduce them to the volunteering roles available in grassroots football.
- Engage with selected affiliated clubs to support them in the documentation of all club-based voluntary roles.
- Drive engagement at affiliated clubs to create, maximise and sustain volunteering opportunities.
- Support clubs to build and sustain relationships with relevant local partners such as volunteer and charitable organisations, educational establishments, plus other key partners to promote the new opportunities.
- Help clubs access relevant support including funding and volunteer development opportunities with support from the County FA.
- To collaborate with County FA staff, national FA staff, external partners, and wider members of the grassroots delivery team workforce.
- Maintain records of the support being provided to grassroots clubs with the aim of providing clarity on work programmes, development opportunities and sharing of good practice.
- Contribute to ensuring that safeguarding and equality are embedded throughout the Amateur Football Alliance and grassroots football.

Experience
Essential
- Success in developing a volunteering network and/or a sports development professional.
- Experience of engaging with, facilitating and delivering to volunteers and external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience of volunteering within a grassroots football club.
- Experience of mentoring others.
- Experience of accessing external funding.
Knowledge, skills, and behaviours
Essential
- Ability to build trust and develop effective working relationships.
- Ability to deliver practical support sessions to a range of volunteers.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, alongside exceptional customer service.
- An understanding of the challenges and barriers that volunteers can face.
- Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office with experience in organising and leading virtual meetings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Commitment to attend additional training provided as part of this programme.
- Flexible in approach with willingness to work evenings and weekends, as well as travel across the Alliance's coverage area.
Desirable
- Understanding of how grassroots clubs can operate.
- Knowledge of The FA's Grassroots Strategy 2024-28: A Thriving Grassroots Game.
- Knowledge of the England Football volunteer schemes, such as The England Football Family and Volunteer Planning Toolkit.
- Knowledge of The FA's technology systems, particularly the Club Portal platform.
