The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has worked to support the passage of numerous bills that have benefitted close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Advocate This is a great entry-level volunteer position for someone looking to be part of The Borgen Project.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Serve as an ambassador for the world’s poor. Build awareness of the issues and ways people can help.
  2. Manage and implement fundraising campaigns.
  3. Represent The Borgen Project in your city - attend events and engage people in the cause.
  4. Contact government leaders in support of key poverty-reduction programmes.
Qualifications
  1. Excellent overall communication skills: oral, written, presentation.
  2. Ability to self-manage and prioritise assignments.
Location: U.S., U.K., and Canada
Salary: Unpaid
Duration: 3 months
Hours: 4 hours per week
Start Date: New programmes begin every month; you choose the month you wish to start.
