Qualifications

Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Volkswagen Stratford-upon-Avon.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (averaging 41.5 hours per week).

Our packages and new pay plans are industry-leading and reflect each applicant's experience and skillset.

  • The basic salaries start from £32,000 up to £45,000.
  • Bonus / OTEs range from £37,000 up to £48,000.
  • OTE Hourly rates range from £17.15 up to £22.24.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for servicing, repair, and diagnostics of all vehicles, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • Main responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repairs, such as suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
  • Additional responsibilities may include repairs on EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
  • Ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Understand Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  • Training to operate additional systems, such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
  • Complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  • Work closely with the workshop team to learn and share knowledge.

About you

  • Candidates from all backgrounds with experience as Vehicle Technicians, Mechanics, HGV Mechanics, HGV Technicians, Motor Mechanics, Motor Vehicle Technicians, Car Mechanics, HGV Fitters, Auto Electricians, MOT Testers, or Apprentice Vehicle Technicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in independent garages, fast fit centers, car supermarkets, or main dealerships is relevant.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or working towards it.
  • Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualifications are advantageous but not essential; full training provided.
  • MOT License is beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Demonstrated good mechanical and electrical knowledge, with a commitment to high standards of work; training and facilities available to support your career growth.
