Job description

Throughout Volkswagen, we have a rigorous commitment to quality and excellence. Our products are highly acclaimed, our distribution and support services are world class, and we possess some of the most technologically advanced resources in the industry.

The Volkswagen Apprenticeship Programme is designed to train and develop apprentices to keep pace with advancing technology and high levels of customer service. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to receive formal qualifications through extensive product training whilst in full-time employment at one of our retailers.

Volkswagen Group (VWG) is one of the UK's largest car retailers, encompassing premium brands such as Audi, Bentley, SEAT, KODA, Volkswagen, TPS, Volkswagen Group Paint and Body, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Our network of retailers spans the UK, providing a wide range of career opportunities.

Once your apprenticeship is complete, you will continue your learning journey with the opportunity to drive your career forward. The earning potential for a Parts Assistant is in excess of £20,000, with further opportunities for career progression within the retail network or at our Head Office in Milton Keynes.

The Parts Department is central to our operations. Our Parts Advisors are responsible for stock control of vehicle parts and accessories, including ordering, selling, and managing stock to meet the needs of trade counter customers and ensure our workshop team has the necessary parts and accessories.

Your duties will vary daily and may include:

  1. Providing advice to customers experiencing vehicle issues
  2. Taking sales orders from customers face-to-face and over the phone
  3. Managing stock control for vehicle parts and accessories
  4. Maintaining an organized stock room
  5. Raising invoices for parts sold
  6. Liaising with internal teams to ensure correct stock placement

Our ideal candidate will be methodical with a keen eye for detail. As a key contact point for internal and external customers, excellent communication skills are essential. IT literacy is also required, with full training provided.

We seek passionate individuals who are enthusiastic about our industry and brand. In your application, please demonstrate:

  1. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  2. Teamwork
  3. Strong communication skills
  4. Customer service orientation

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team and build a long-term career, with excellent earning and progression opportunities after completing the apprenticeship.

Training will be delivered through a mix of virtual classroom remote learning and face-to-face block release weeks at our state-of-the-art training centre. Our expert trainers will guide you using e-learning, classroom sessions, and practical application. Your personal mentor will support your ongoing learning in the workplace and at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre.

This comprehensive training experience will help you develop life skills, gain apprenticeship qualifications, and brand certifications. Upon successful completion of the one-year programme, you will receive:

  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Standard
  • Brand-specific certifications

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with the possibility of Saturday work or shifts. The exact schedule will be confirmed upon application.
