Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Volkswagen Commercial Coventry. You will be working Monday - Friday with 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis. Various working patterns are available to support your work-life balance.

Our packages and new pay plans are industry-leading and reflect each applicant's experience and skillset:

  • The basic salaries start from £32,000 up to £45,000
  • Bonuses / OTE’s range from £35,000 up to £48,000

Role and Responsibilities

  • Servicing, repair, and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • Electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
  • Repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
  • Fitting manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Understanding and prioritizing Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  • Operating additional systems such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
  • Completing all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  • Collaborating with the workshop team to share knowledge and learn continuously.

About You

  • Experience in the automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
  • Experience at independent garages, fast fit centres, car supermarkets, or main dealers is welcome.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; working towards is acceptable.
  • MOT license is beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with a commitment to high standards; training and facilities are provided to support your career development.
