Listers Volkswagen Commercial Coventry is hiring a Vehicle Technician to join our workshop. The role involves servicing, repairing and diagnosing vehicles, including EV/Hybrid systems, in a modern facility with a focus on quality and customer service.

You'll typically work Monday to Friday with Saturday rota shifts; a basic salary up to £45,000 with OTE up to £48,000 plus benefits, and ongoing training to become a VW Qualified Service Technician or Master Technician.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be working towards NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• MOT testing licence with DVSA and up-to-date training record required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repair and diagnostics of vehicles to high first-time standard.
• Electrical and mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts and air conditioning.
• MOT testing responsibilities.
• Work with EV/Hybrid systems and diagnostic tools.
• Operate within DVSA framework and fit accessories.
• Complete service paperwork to manufacturer standards.
• Collaborate with workshop team to share knowledge and meet timescales.

Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Volkswagen Commercial Coventry. The working hours are Monday to Friday on a shift basis, with a choice between 07:00-16:30 and 08:00-17:30. In addition, you will be required to work 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis. Role and Responsibilities

• Our technicians are responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
• The main responsibilities would include electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing.
• Responsibilities would include MOT Testing.
• Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles such as the use of electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on areas such as batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems.
• You will have the ability to work within DVSA framework.
• You will have the ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
• You will have a full understanding of Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
• You will be trained and able to operate additional systems, such as video reporting i.e CitNOW.
• You also will be able to complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
• Working closely with other members of the workshop team to constantly learn and share knowledge.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, within required timescales and in accordance with established and documented procedures and standards from both the Company and Ministry of Transport.

About you

• We consider candidates from all backgrounds who have experience working in the Automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester or Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join Listers.
• Whether you work at an independent garage, fast fit centre, car supermarket or main dealer, we would be interested in talking to you.
• As a minimum you will hold or working towards completion of your NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• An Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification or certification would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
• You must have a valid class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence with DVSA and have an up-to-date annual training record and passed the assessment.
• Full UK Driving licence.
