Job summary

The Mears Group is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join the Voids team in Birmingham. You will refurbish vacant properties, painting and decorating to bring homes up to standard for new tenants, and work across internal and external surfaces.

Applicants should have proven painting experience, be able to work at height, and hold a full UK driving license. The role offers a full-time permanent contract, company vehicle, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in painting and decorating, including wallpapering.

Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces including filling, sanding, wallpaper removal and making good prior to decoration.
• Painting walls, ceilings, doors and skirting boards to a high standard.
• Applying emulsions, gloss and specialist finishes.
• Carrying out wallpaper removal and redecoration where required.
• Treating damp and mould affected areas.
• Carrying out exterior painting and handover-ready finishes.
• Maintaining tools and vehicle in good condition.
• Completing job records accurately and on time.
• Supporting void refurbishment programmes within turnaround times.
