Job summary

Fraser Edwards Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Voids & Aids and Adaptations Surveyor for a social housing client in Basildon, Essex. The role is initially a 6-month contract with hybrid working.

The successful candidate will inspect empty properties, identify repairs and adaptations, and prepare schedules of work to meet lettable standards, coordinating with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential property surveying, repairs and refurbishment.
• Ability to produce detailed schedules of work and cost estimates.
• Experience coordinating with residents, contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out void property inspections and identify defects or improvements.
• Prepare schedules of work and cost estimates to achieve lettable standards.
• Prioritise remedial works based on property demand and letting requirements.
• Assess feasibility of aids and adaptations with OT input.
• Coordinate with residents, contractors and internal teams to agree specifications.
• Inspect completed adaptations for quality and compliance.
• Monitor contractor performance against budgets and schedules.
• Undertake site inspections to check workmanship and address defects.
• Work with Allocations and Lettings teams to minimise delays and restore occupancy.
