A local independent living service is looking for a Personal Assistant in Bridgend. The role involves taking a lady in her 50s to various activities and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. Candidates must have a driving license and enjoy exploring new activities. The position offers 10 hours of work per week with a pay rate of £12.50 per hour plus mileage allowance.

Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a lady in my 50s living in Bridgend looking to employ a PA to take me out and about during the week to various activities and places I will enjoy. I am diabetic, so need to watch what I eat, and hope that I can find a PA who will encourage me to make healthy choices. (Diabetes training can be provided if requested). I love arts and crafts, animals and visiting museums, but am open to new ideas for things to do and try.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To take me out and about to various places throughout the week as well as proactively find places I might be interested in visiting and classes I might be interested in attending.
HOURS OF WORK
10 hours per week available and these hours will be worked on a Wednesday and Friday. Hours would be 9:30am – 2:30pm approximately but some leeway with this.
I do have another PA who works 10 hours as well and ideally my PAs would cover each other’s leave.
RATES OF PAY
£12.50 per hour
Plus Mileage Allowance of 40p per mile
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Taking me in your car to various places I will enjoy such as animal farms and museums
Taking me for days out
Finding classes or events I might be interested in attending
Being a good companion on our trips out together
Reinforcing healthy eating choices and health lifestyle

A driver with access to their own car is essential

ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
