VodafoneThree in Newbury is seeking a Portfolio Risk & Governance Specialist to ensure investments are governed effectively and risks are managed with robust insights. You’ll collaborate across Enterprise Portfolio Management, Central Risk and diverse stakeholders to enable transparent delivery.

The role focuses on governance, reporting and providing recommendations to investment boards, while promoting a culture of transparency and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with EPM, Central Risk and the wider organisation to align investments with strategy, regulatory requirements and risk frameworks.
• Provide governance, oversight and constructive challenge for informed executive decisions.
• Monitor and escalate portfolio risks to identify issues early and manage them effectively.
• Produce high-quality risk reporting, analysis and governance information.
• Support governance forums and investment boards with insights and recommendations.
• Promote transparency, continuous improvement and shared ownership across the portfolio.
• Use data to guide investment priorities and strengthen portfolio performance.
• Build relationships with stakeholders at all levels to influence outcomes.

Location: Newbury + Hybrid

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What You’ll Do

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the UK's largest mobile network provider. As a Portfolio Risk & Governance Specialist, you'll play an important role in ensuring that strategic investments are governed effectively, risks are understood and managed, and decision-making is supported by robust insight and governance. Working across Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM), Central Risk, and a wide range of stakeholders, you'll help create the conditions for successful delivery while fostering transparency, collaboration, and accountability.

• Partner with colleagues across EPM, Central Risk, and the wider organisation to ensure investment decisions are aligned with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks
• Provide governance, oversight, and constructive challenge to support informed and balanced executive decision-making
• Monitor, assess, and escalating portfolio risks, helping to ensure potential issues are identified early and managed effectively
• Produce and maintain high-quality risk reporting, analysis, and governance information that enables clear visibility and informed action
• Support governance forums, investment boards, and portfolio reviews by delivering accurate insights and recommendations
• Champion a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and shared ownership across the enterprise investment portfolio
• Use data and evidence-based analysis to help guide investment priorities and strengthen portfolio performance
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, influencing outcomes through collaboration, credibility, and clear communication
• Contribute to capital investment planning activities and help maintain the overall health and integrity of the enterprise investment portfolio
• Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes and ways of working, supporting positive change across the organisation

Who You Are

• You have strong stakeholder management skills and can build trusted relationships across diverse teams, functions, and business areas
• You communicate clearly and confidently, with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• You can influence senior stakeholders through a balanced approach that combines credibility, collaboration, and constructive challenge
• You have knowledge of portfolio risk governance and understand the importance of effective governance in delivering strategic outcomes
• You take a thoughtful and analytical approach to problem-solving, using data and insight to support decision-making
• You have a keen eye for detail and consistently produce accurate, high-quality work
• You are comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving environment, adapting your approach to meet changing priorities
• You can motivate confidence, bring people together around shared goals, and support positive outcomes across multiple teams and locations
• You enjoy working collaboratively and value different perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking
• Experience of enterprise-wide portfolio risk management within a large, complex organisation would be advantageous
• Experience of capital investment risk governance would be beneficial
