Job summary

VodafoneThree in Newbury is seeking a qualified lawyer to join our in-house legal team at Vodafone Business, shaping complex commercial deals in a fast-evolving telecoms landscape. You will negotiate contracts, provide commercial guidance and collaborate across regulatory, finance, security and product teams.

As part of a hybrid working model, you will balance office and home-based work, supported by a culture of inclusion, development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A qualified lawyer with in-house or private practice experience.
• Experience in telecommunications or technology sectors is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance risk and opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Join a dynamic legal team at Vodafone Business, shaping complex commercial deals and providing trusted legal guidance.
• Negotiate and deliver contracts, bids and tenders across Vodafone Business sales segments.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on commercial, operational and regulatory matters.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across legal, commercial, finance, security and product teams.
• Assess legal and regulatory risks and help develop mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to governance, training and compliance guidance.
• Support automation and scalable legal processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and external counsel in alignment with business goals.

Location: Newbury + Hybrid

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What You’ll Do

Join a dynamic legal team at the heart of Vodafone Business, where you'll help shape complex commercial deals, support strategic growth, and provide trusted legal guidance across a fast-evolving technology and telecoms landscape. You'll work alongside commercial, technical, finance, compliance and regulatory teams, helping the business make confident decisions while balancing opportunity and risk.

• You'll support the negotiation and delivery of contracts, bids and tenders across a diverse range of Vodafone Business sales segments
• You'll provide pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice on commercial, operational and compliance matters, helping the business achieve its objectives while managing legal risk
• You'll build strong relationships with stakeholders across legal, commercial, finance, security, product, technical and regulatory teams, becoming a trusted advisor to the business
• You'll assess legal and regulatory risks, helping to develop effective mitigation strategies that protect the organisation while enabling growth
• You'll contribute to governance activities, legal training and guidance, helping colleagues understand key legal requirements and best practices
• You'll help drive continuous improvement by supporting automation, simplification and scalable legal processes that enhance efficiency and business self-service
• You'll collaborate with customers, suppliers, external counsel and strategic partners, ensuring legal support aligns with wider commercial objectives
• You'll stay informed on legal, regulatory and industry developments, sharing insights and identifying opportunities to strengthen legal delivery across the organisation

Who You Are

• A qualified lawyer with experience in-house or in private practice
• Experience within the telecommunications or technology sector is desirable, or a strong enthusiasm to develop expertise in these industries
• Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives and opportunities
• Confidence in managing your own workload and taking ownership of legal matters while seeking guidance when appropriate
• The ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills, or the potential to develop them quickly
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions
• A proactive, self-starting mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
• A genuine team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and working towards shared goals
