Job summary

Vodafone Limited is seeking a Secure IT specialist to manage and maintain our Linux estate in highly secure environments. You will ensure critical systems stay available, secure, and performant, collaborating with infrastructure, security and project teams to advance enterprise Linux platforms.

You will administer RHEL and related distros, patch and harden servers, support VMware environments, and develop automation scripts using Bash, Python or Ansible.

Qualifications

• You have strong Linux administration experience within enterprise environments.
• You possess hands on experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS or similar Linux distributions.
• You have experience with Linux system patching, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• You understand Linux security best practices, hardening standards and vulnerability remediation.
• You have experience working with VMware and virtualised server environments.
• You are familiar with scripting and automation tools such as Bash, Python or Ansible.
• You are comfortable working within IT security policies, governance frameworks and change management processes.
• You are proactive, self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced technical environment.
• You are organised, reliable and capable of managing your own workload.
• You hold DV clearance or are willing and eligible to undergo DV vetting.
• You enjoy learning new technologies and developing your technical capability.

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - with opportunities for overtime and participation in an on-call rota
