Vodafone Group Plc is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to deliver reliable LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions for one of VodafoneThree’s largest enterprise clients. The role is based predominantly at the Leiston site with location independent working options and remote standby support.

You will lead network projects, coordinate third-party suppliers, ensure change control, and maintain HS safety documentation.

Competenze

  • Extensive experience configuring and implementing Cisco LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive field experience including installation of networking equipment.
  • Self-motivated with ability to develop strong customer relationships in a team environment.
  • Full SC Security Clearance or ability to obtain.

  • Plan, design and implement network solutions to meet customer business requirements.
  • Technical lead for delivery of customer network projects.
  • Ensure Change Control and mandatory processes are adhered to.
  • Produce RAMs and risk assessments; maintain HS compliant documentation.
  • Hands-on build activity to stage, commission and install new network equipment when required.
  • Produce site and solution network documentation; monitor progress and provide updates to stakeholders.

  • Support pre-sales activity and maintain departmental procedures and standards.
  • Keep technical knowledge up to date and adapt to customer standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational objectives.

Location: Customer Site - Leiston, Suffolk + Location Independent Worker
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work between 8am-6pm each day and provide remote Standby Support as & when required
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability & willingness to undergo and obtain a Secure Vetting (SC) clearance.

Location Independent Worker

As a Location Independent Worker, for operational reasons you may be required to perform your duties, either temporarily or permanently, from any of our offices or customer sites within a reasonable geographic area of your home address. Join our Vodafone Business Technology Solutions team, where we support businesses of all sizes with world-class technology solutions. We design and develop our Fixed Line solutions, drive efficiency through automation and AI, and implement it all directly with our customers.

What you’ll do

Working in a team of like-minded and highly skilled Network Engineers, the primary focus for this role is delivery of reliable LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions using a wide range of products from data vendors including: Cisco and Vodafone for one of VodafoneThree’s largest Enterprise and Global customers.

The role will be predominantly based on our customer site in Leiston, Suffolk.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Plan, Design and Implement network solutions to meet customer business requirements.
  • Technical Lead for delivery of customer network projects.
  • Ensure Change Control and other mandatory processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure all work is risk-assessed with the production and maintenance of H&S Compliant documentation (RAMs and Point of Works Risk Assessment).
  • Where required undertake hands‑on build activity to stage, commission and install new network equipment.
  • Production of customer site and solution network documentation.
  • Monitor progress of activities within each project; providing regular updates to management and key stakeholders.
  • Management and coordination of 3rd party suppliers.
  • Presentation of solutions delivered to team members and colleagues as required.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to pre‑sales activity.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures and customer best practices standards.
  • Ensure technical knowledge is kept up to date and make recommendations to changes in customer technical standards.
  • Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
Who you are
  • Extensive experience working with (configuring and implementing) predominantly Cisco LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive field experience including installation of networking equipment.
  • Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment.
  • Full SC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain.
  • Able to work a flexible shift pattern between the hours of 8am-6pm, with also being on standby for out of hours remote support as & when required.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience of working in a construction environment is advantageous.
