Job summary

A leading telecommunications company in the UK is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design and deliver data solutions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Cisco and Extreme products and experience in managing customer requirements. This position offers a hybrid working model, enabling flexibility while contributing to impactful technology projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering data solutions to customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and deliver data solutions including design and deployment.

Skills

Certification or experience with Cisco/Extreme (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, JNCIA, NRS, SRA)
Knowledge of Extreme Switches, Wireless, IP Addressing, VLAN configurations
External customer relationship skills

What you’ll do

As the Engineering Authority/Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and delivering data solutions to support customer requirements. This includes designing LAN/WLAN solutions using products from vendors like Cisco and Extreme, deploying WAN services such as MPLS/SD WAN, managing solution implementation, coordinating with third-party suppliers, and producing support documentation. You will also be on a fault support rota to assist with 3rd line issues. Your responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with Order Assurance, Project Managers, and Change Management colleagues for successful service delivery.
  • Achieving performance targets in line with business, customer, and SLA requirements.
  • Escalating issues and delays to prevent SLA breaches.
  • Providing quality assurance for third-party installations and upgrades.
  • Ensuring site documentation is current and available.

Who you are

  • Certification or experience with vendors like Cisco/Extreme (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, JNCIA, NRS, SRA).
  • Knowledge of Extreme Switches, Wireless, IP Addressing, VLAN configurations.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple activities within time and budget constraints.
  • Strong external customer relationship skills and team collaboration abilities.
