Job description

Location: Newbury + Hybrid. Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits. Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday.

Hybrid

We believe that through collaboration and connection with our colleagues we can achieve great things. Our hybrid working approach allows our people to work both in the office and at home, providing the flexibility and resources you need to succeed in your role. We do not require you to be in on specific days; instead, we ask people to come into the office 2-3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team.

Who We Are

We are here to build a network the UK can count on – one that connects people, places and potential. Because no matter where you live, what your background is, or how you get online – we think everyone deserves the same chance to stay connected, and with VodafoneThree, that future's being built – today.

We are creating more than the UK's best network. We are helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress.

We believe that everyone should feel they belong. Whoever you are and whatever your story, there's space for you here. We are building a workplace where different perspectives are welcomed, voices are heard, and everyone feels safe to show up as themselves.

You will join a team that genuinely cares – about each other, about our customers, and about the future we are building. From day one, you will be welcomed, valued and encouraged to bring your whole self to work.

Why VodafoneThree

Join us and you will be at the heart of change. That means building responsibly, investing sustainably and creating opportunities that last.

We are not just expanding connectivity; we are reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services, and communities across the country.

You will work on real challenges, with real impact, across every corner of the country. Wherever you join us, whatever your role, you will be helping to build a future that works better for everyone.

We move at pace, because what we are building matters – and we are learning as we go. We are proud of the progress we have made, but we are just getting started.

Join us at the heart of our business in Corporate, one of the central support functions that underpin our business and keep us moving forward. We provide centralised support, expertise and guidance across our UK and Group operations, continuing to build on our success and trailblazing the way to our next stage of digital growth.

What you will do

As an Employee Relations Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience by providing expert guidance on complex cases, supporting business transformation initiatives, and helping leaders navigate challenging people matters with confidence. You will join a collaborative team that values sound judgement, continuous improvement and a people-first approach, while giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.

  • You will provide expert, commercially focused advice on complex and high-risk employee relations matters, ensuring decisions are consistent, compliant and aligned with established frameworks.
  • You will take ownership of complex ER cases from end to end, driving timely and effective resolution while identifying when escalation is required.
  • You will act as a point of support and guidance for ER specialists, sharing expertise and helping build capability across the team.
  • You will maintain a strong focus on UK employment law, risk management and best practice, helping preserve our reputation as a fair, inclusive and responsible employer.
  • You will contribute to the development and enhancement of employee relations and organisational change frameworks.
  • You will lead the ER delivery of organisational change programmes, including TUPE transfers, ensuring consultation processes are managed effectively and compliantly.
  • You will partner with stakeholders across the business to navigate change with clarity, confidence and empathy.
  • You will design and deliver engaging ER training that builds manager capability and promotes consistent decision-making.
  • You will identify trends, risks and opportunities through casework analysis, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • You will help enhance ER processes, tools and templates, contributing to a more efficient and effective employee relations service.
Who you are
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application within a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience independently managing and resolving complex employee relations cases.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to explain complex issues clearly and sensitively.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to balance legal risk, fairness and commercial objectives.
  • A collaborative and inclusive mindset, with a genuine commitment to supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
  • A proactive approach to identifying improvements and driving positive change.
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to remain effective in fast-moving and evolving environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess risk and make informed recommendations.
