What you'll do
  • Be part of a VBSE Assure team in a Network Management Centre supporting multiple networks, providing 2nd Line operational support to Government customers.
  • Provide expert technical services focusing on Transmission and IP elements within the VBSE network.
  • 2nd Line support to the assure team, maintaining fault work in accordance with customer service level agreements.
  • Support with maintain the 24/7 shift Rota.
  • Deal effectively /efficiently with queries from customers and manage ticketing.
  • Perform regular audits on the networks and systems.
  • Provide technical support to others in the department and to customers. Make recommendations to VBSE management on complex technical matters.
  • Be able to maintain Customer confidentiality and ability to hold security clearance.
  • In depth knowledge of Transmission equipment and networks, DWDM, SDH, PDH, etc, in a telecoms provider environment.
  • Awareness of configuration of Ciena and Alcatel equipment.
  • In depth knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing in a telecoms provider environment.
  • Awareness of configuration of Cisco and Alcatel IP/Ethernet equipment.
  • A clear and analytical approach to problem management.
  • Understanding of ITIL working practices.

Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri
