Job summary

Hales Group is seeking a Vocational Trainer (Engineering, Welding & Motor Vehicle) to support apprentices in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft area. You will manage caseloads, deliver training and guide learners to successful apprenticeship completion.

The role requires Level 3 in Engineering or Welding, Level 2 L&N, and a Level 3 Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards it. 37 hours weekly, pay £16.62+ per hour DOE, temporary ongoing.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in Engineering or Welding & Fabrication is essential.
  • Experience in Engineering, Welding, Fabrication or related technical discipline.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Level 3 Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Assessing qualification or willingness to achieve within 12 months (desirable).
  • Experience in apprenticeships or work-based learning environments (desirable).
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and OneFile (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of apprentices and supporting them to achieve within timescales.
  • Planning and conducting progress reviews in line with quality and funding requirements.
  • Delivering training, coaching and ongoing support to apprentices and employers.
  • Supporting learner inductions and explaining programme requirements.
  • Monitoring learner progress, attendance and off-the-job training activities.
  • Completing employer health and safety reviews and maintaining records.
  • Supporting apprentices with preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Using OneFile and other systems to record progress and evidence.
  • Building relationships with employers and advising on apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Attending quality, standardisation and progress meetings.

Job description

Hales Group are currently seeking a Vocational Trainer (Engineering, Welding & Motor Vehicle) to join a well-established education and training provider in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft area.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified individual to support apprentices across Engineering, Welding and Motor Vehicle pathways, ensuring learners achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship programmes.

Main Duties of Vocational Trainer Include:
  • Managing a caseload of apprentices and supporting them to achieve their apprenticeship within agreed timescales.
  • Planning and conducting progress reviews in line with quality, funding and compliance requirements.
  • Delivering training, coaching and ongoing support to apprentices and employers.
  • Supporting learner inductions and ensuring all parties understand programme requirements and expectations.
  • Monitoring learner progress, attendance and off-the-job training activities.
  • Completing employer health and safety reviews and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting apprentices with preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Using OneFile and other systems to record learner progress and evidence.
  • Building positive relationships with employers and providing advice on apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Attending quality, standardisation and progress meetings as required.
To be considered for the role of Vocational Trainer:
  • Level 3 vocational qualification in Engineering or Welding & Fabrication (essential).
  • Occupational experience within Engineering, Welding, Fabrication or a related technical discipline.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Level 3 Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support learners towards successful outcomes.
  • Assessing qualification or willingness to achieve within 12 months (desirable).
  • Experience within apprenticeships, training or work-based learning environments (desirable).
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding requirements and OneFile software (desirable).
Working Hours & Pattern:
  • 37 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Flexibility may be required to meet learner and employer needs.

LOCATION: Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Area

PAY: £16.62+ per hour DOE

DURATION: Temporary ongoing
