Job Opportunity: Vocational Instructor

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four?

Our colleagues' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG. We're exploring new ways to improve work/life balance through a trial of the 4-Day Working Week (4DWW), which could mean working one day less per week (or the equivalent).

4DWW will be implemented within our school when we have a full staff complement, within the next year. This is an exciting time to join us!

Location: Crookhey Hall School, Cockerham, Nr Lancaster, LA2 0HA

Salary: GBP25,000 per annum (not pro-rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

We are seeking a passionate, adaptable, and resourceful Vocational Instructor to join our team at Crookhey Hall School. You will facilitate learning experiences and practical skills development across various vocational and technical fields, designing and delivering tailored instructional programs to prepare students for their careers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement vocational curricula and training materials.
• Assess learners' needs and customize training programs.
• Conduct classroom and practical training sessions.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments.
• Provide individual support and mentorship.
• Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into training.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance training quality.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievements.
• Ensure a safe learning environment, adhering to safety standards.

Essential Requirements

• Instructor Qualification or Vocational Training in a related field.
• Experience in vocational training or teaching.
• Knowledge of instructional design and SEN learning principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to various learning needs.
• Proven success in training and developing individuals.
• Familiarity with BTEC qualifications.
• Certification in relevant vocational or technical fields.
• 2-3 years of experience in the relevant subject area.
