Job description

Vocational Coach in Carpentry and Joinery

A new role has arisen for a Vocational Coach in Carpentry and Joinery. This opportunity involves coaching students to develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours, helping them maximize their performance to achieve their aspirations. You will ensure effective curriculum delivery by preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment plans aligned with employer requirements and progression goals.

You will also provide coaching and support that promotes behaviours essential for future success, ensuring students understand their rights and responsibilities. The role includes participating in student interviewing, enrollment, and induction processes. Experience in designing and delivering training in college settings, workplaces, or similar environments is desirable.

To be successful, you must have proven vocational knowledge with at least a Level 3 qualification in the subject area, and the ability to support the development of students' English, Maths, and Digital Skills. Additional training in other trade areas is desirable. You should hold TAQA (301, 302, or 303) or equivalent, or be willing to work towards it, and possess GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades 9-4 or A*-C). A teaching qualification such as PTLLS or CTLLS is also desirable.
