Position Overview

Ford-Werke GmbH, the German subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, is looking for an exceptional Interface Design professional. In this role, you will envision the big picture while perfecting project details, creating compelling in-vehicle experiences with a focus on clean and artful design. Responsibilities include translating high-level requirements into high-fidelity UI and communicating ideas through prototypes and interactive models. You should be able to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-growing department.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-fidelity user interface hero screens using Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision DSM, and rapid prototyping tools (InVision, Flinto, Framer, HTML/CSS, After Effects, etc.) to express brand vision with attention to layout, color, typography, and behavior.
• Ensure technical feasibility and design compliance by collaborating with Digital Product DMS Designers and HMI Engineers.
• Combine creative and practical thinking to optimize efficiency and reduce design debt.

Your Profile

• Exceptional visual design skills with sensitivity to system interactions and experience with Design systems.
• Foundational knowledge in human-centered design, UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• Optional experience in Motion Design and basic coding understanding.
• Experience working freelance, in an agency, or in a startup environment is preferred.

This position is based in Cologne, Germany. Automotive background is NOT required.
