Job summary

Twizel Area School is seeking a Certificated visual arts teacher to lead NCEA Visual Arts and provide a vibrant arts program across middle school (Years 1–15) for the 2027 school year.

The role is full-time, fixed-term from 25 January 2027 to 17 December 2027 (Study Leave cover). Accommodation may be available in a supportive rural community. Applicants should outline their curriculum strengths and what they can bring to TAS.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering visual arts within school contexts.
• Ability to teach across arts curriculum and adapt to middle school.
• Experience with NCEA visuals or related assessment.
• Strong curriculum planning and collaboration with team.

Responsibilities

• Teach NCEA visual arts and general arts to middle school (Years 1–15).
• Contribute to wider arts program and cross-curricular opportunities.
• Supports 2027 study-leave cover period from Jan to Dec 2027.
• Collaborate with staff to plan units and assessments.
