Base Location: Portland Basin Museum, Portland Place, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL7 0QA

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Visitor Services Manager to Cultural and Customer Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the co-ordination of business and administrative functions across Cultural Services, including managing school bookings and object loan box bookings as well as compiling statistical data..

You will have responsibility for the day-to-day line management of the front of house team in the Museums and Galleries Service and be responsible for ensuring high standards of customer care and service delivery.

You will also assist in the management of health and safety and retail functions.

About You

You must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You will be able to manage and motivate a team and have excellent customer service skills. You will have good IT skills including experience of working with Excel.

You will be required to work flexibly including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays and be able to work at various sites but predominantly at Portland Basin Museum. You will be able to work independently and also as part of a team.
