Job summary

Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a Visitor Services Assistant for the Medlock Square welcome desk in Manchester. This full-time role supports a welcoming point of contact for campus visitors, events, tours and tickets, ensuring a smooth start from arrival.

You’ll work 37.5 hours per week on-site, with early, evening, weekend and event shifts; part-time patterns considered where coverage exists. Benefits include a comprehensive package and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing, hospitality, retail, visitor attraction, sport, entertainment or service environment.
• Friendly, helpful and inclusive approach to visitors and colleagues.
• Clear verbal communication skills and ability to listen and explain information.
• Reliable and organized, able to follow procedures and handle visitor information.
• Calm and professional when busy or handling challenging enquiries.
• Confidence using basic digital systems or willingness to learn booking/ticketing/service tools.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors at the Medlock Square welcome desk and other service points.
• Provide accurate guidance on directions, facilities, attractions, events, tickets and reservations.
• Support queues and wayfinding to keep service points running smoothly.
• Complete opening, closing, handover, housekeeping and equipment checks.
• Use booking, ticketing and service systems accurately.
• Work across visitor service locations as needed.
• Stay up to date through briefings and procedures.
• Contribute to a safe, accessible visitor experience.
• Escalate enquiries, complaints, incidents or safeguarding concerns as needed.
• Share feedback with Supervisors to improve the visitor experience.
