Job Description:

You will join us as a visiting lecturer to support our PE associate teachers across our undergraduate BA Secondary Physical Education with QTS and PGCE Physical Education courses.

We are a well-established, supportive, friendly team who are fully committed to striving for excellence and aim to provide outstanding student experiences at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We have developed a shared vision for educational excellence with our partner schools and our courses reflect our commitment to partnership working and training the next generation of secondary teachers.

The work involves teaching on ITE courses across Undergraduate and Postgraduate routes and providing professional development. You will work closely with colleagues in partner schools, observing trainees in their teaching practice, and establishing and maintaining links. Essential to your role is providing pastoral support to enable BCU students to thrive and become independent professionals who are proud to be part of Birmingham City University.

The work is hourly paid at a competitive rate and the working hours are flexible. You will also have opportunities to join staff for further development, sharing, and CPD. You must hold a first degree in Physical Education and have QTS. Experience of teaching in Secondary schools is essential and prior experience of working in Initial Teacher Training or mentoring trainees on ITE courses is desirable.
