Position: Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor

Job Description Summary

Seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach online graduate courses for Project Dragonfly’s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) and Global Field Program (GFP), as well as in-person undergraduate courses.

The role involves teaching topics such as conservation science, community-based conservation, ecology, evolution, environmental biology, and inquiry-based learning within the Department of Biology. The incumbent will collaborate with a creative university team and work with national and global partners to deliver courses designed to advance conservation efforts worldwide.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in ecology, conservation biology, environmental or science education, or a related field by the date of appointment for the Visiting Assistant Professor position.
  • ABD (All But Dissertation) in the same fields by the date of appointment for the Instructor position.

Preferred candidates will have experience in community-based conservation, public engagement in science, formal and informal learning settings, sustainability, ethnoecology, or international research, along with experience in web-based instruction and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Zoom, Google Meets, Skype, and Google Apps. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting a diverse instructional team and student body are essential.
