POPS is recruiting to staff the visit centre at HMP Dovegate, the role focuses on welcoming and supporting visitors, providing information, practical advice and emotional support to prisoners' families during visits. The position is permanent and centred around compassionate, professional family support.

You will help maintain positive relationships, assist children and families, and support resettlement planning as needed, reporting to the Family Service Manager. The salary is £12.71 per hour.

• Help prisoners' families maintain positive and supportive relationships during visits and custodial periods.
• Assist with resettlement preparation and signpost relevant services as required.

The Charity was founded by prisoners' families in 1988, we currently provide Family Support services in 15 prisons across Bristol, Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Leicester, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire .

Purpose of the post

The purpose of the post is to staff the visit centre at HMP Dovegate, creating and maintaining welcoming environment and to meet and greet all visitors to the establishment. The post holder will provide information, practical advice emotional support to visitors where necessary, to ensure prisoners' children, families and visitors are able to maintain positive and supportive relationships to throughout the custodial sentence and prepare effectively for release and resettlement
