Job summary

Royal Society for Blind Children in Epsom is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help students at Dorton College Hub, Nescot. This term-time only, on-site role focuses on enabling access to courses, developing independence and supporting studies for learners with vision impairments.

Key duties include safeguarding, producing adapted resources, and assisting across a range of courses to promote participation, confidence and skill development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in a learning environment.
• Good ICT skills and ability to adapt resources.
• Awareness of safeguarding protocols and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students through their learning programmes.
• Promoting students' independence, confidence and learning skills.
• Safeguarding students by following college procedures.
• Producing adapted learning resources and providing classroom support.
• Helping students participate in learning, enrichment and leisure activities.
• Using ICT and assistive technologies to adapt resources to preferred formats.
• Providing care support to students when applicable.
