Job description

Ensure Compliance, Support Students, Make an Impact!

Are you passionate about ensuring compliance and supporting international students? We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Visa Compliance Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring the university meets its student visa sponsorship obligations with the UK Home Office, while providing expert guidance to both students and colleagues.

This is a hybrid position, where you will work two days per week at our London-Moorgate campus and three days working from home.

As our Visa Compliance Officer, you will:
  • Assess the eligibility for student visa sponsorship from continuing students or those returning from a period of intermission.
  • Monitor international students' attendance and engagement, ensuring compliance with visa conditions
  • To carry out all UKVI reporting, ensuring that all changes to a student's circumstances are promptly reported via the Home Office Management System (SMS)
  • Execute visa extension processes and oversee Graduate Route reporting.
  • Participate in audits and contribute to policy development related to student visa compliance.
  • Work closely with Admissions, International Recruitment, Student Services, and external agencies (e.g., UKCISA, Home Office) to provide expert advice on student visa matters.
Is this you?:
  • Capable of processing large amounts of complex information efficiently, while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Strong administrative and data management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Experience working in a visa compliance or student immigration role within an educational setting would be a distinct advantage as would familiarity with the Home Office Sponsor Management System (SMS) and student visa regulations.
