Job summary

A leading healthcare recruitment agency is looking for a Band 6 Virtual Ward Nurse to support the NHS in Tamworth. The role involves managing patients and providing clinical assessments through the Virtual Ward, with shifts available from Monday to Sunday. This position offers enhanced weekend rates and the potential for contract extension.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC Pin.
  • Qualifications in Physical Health Assessment are required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and escalate deteriorating patients using autonomous clinical assessments.
  • Lead the clinical assessment of patients in their home environment.
  • Ensure appropriate treatment/care packages are delivered.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on patient care issues.

We have a new opportunity within the NHS for a Virtual Ward Nurse in Tamworth.

Band 6 Virtual Ward Nurse

Located in Tamworth

£25 p/h Umbrella (enhanced rates for weekends)

Shifts between Mon-Sun, 8am-8pm

3 month initial contract with the view of extension

Key responsibilities:

  • Use autonomous clinical assessment and decision making to manage and potentially escalate any deteriorating patients.
  • Take a leading role in the clinical assessment of people in their own home environment, who have been identified as meeting the Virtual Ward admission criteria.
  • Ensure that patients on the virtual ward with different acuity levels and complex needs have appropriate treatment/care packages delivered.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance to colleagues and other professionals on issues related to patient care on the virtual ward.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin
  • Physical Health Assessment or equivalent qualification
