Job description

Kelly Group is currently looking to recruit the very best talent and have a unique opportunity for Experienced Telecoms Civils Operatives to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be working on our Virgin Media contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Highway Excavation: Perform precise excavations in highways, ensuring strict compliance with the NRSWA Code of Practice 1991 and HSG47 regulations.
  • Duct Work: Install new ducting to industry standards.
  • Blockage Clearance: Proactively clear blockages to maintain efficient network operations.
  • Rod, Rope, and Testing: Execute rod and rope procedures and comprehensive testing.
  • Compliance Assurance: Adhere to the Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH).
  • Customer Engagement: Visit customer premises to introduce Virgin Media services, laying cables from distribution points to properties.
  • Consultative Approach: Communicate with customers to discuss excavation works on their property.
  • Safety First: Operate within the Virgin Media UG and PIA network, ensuring all activities meet Health and Safety legislation for optimal customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Full UK Driving Licence: Held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
  • CityFibre Network Experience: Demonstrated expertise on the CityFibre network.
  • Openreach / PIA Experience: Have experience of working on the fibre network.
  • Mechanical Civils Equipment: Proficiency in using mechanical civils tools and equipment.
  • Health and Safety: Strong risk assessment skills, hazard identification, and a commitment to Health and Safety practices.
  • Telecoms Background: Proven hands-on experience in the telecoms industry.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ability to provide top-notch customer service.
  • Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Capable of working independently as well as collaborating effectively with team members.
