Job description

The primary aspects of the role involve supporting the team in the filming and editing of video projects, as well as assisting with office and administrative tasks as required.

The duties include:

  1. Filming interviews and cutaway footage with cameras such as the Canon C200 and Canon R7, and drones like the DJI Mini 4 Pro, ensuring good audio and lighting.
  2. Editing footage using software like Final Cut Pro X.
  3. Overseeing animation projects and developing basic animation and motion graphics skills.
  4. Taking portraits and candid photographs for content and clients.
  5. Managing social media engagement and content production across platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
  6. Providing office support including answering phones, handling mail, greeting guests, and other administrative tasks.

Candidate / Required Skills

  • Proficiency with professional video cameras and sound equipment.
  • Skills in framing and lighting for interviews.
  • Ability to shoot engaging B-roll and drone footage.
  • Experience with video editing software such as Final Cut Pro X.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer relations experience, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with major social media platforms.

Essential / Desirable Skills

Essential: Use of professional broadcast-quality video and sound equipment, capturing 'talking head' interviews and B-roll footage.

Desirable: 1-2+ years of experience in a similar role.

Editing: Proficiency with Adobe, Final Cut, Da Vinci, or Avid; ability to work to a brief.

Desirable: Experience with FCP X and motion graphics.

Animation: Willingness to manage animation projects and liaise with clients and animators.

Desirable: Experience with animation and motion graphics software.

Production: Effective communication skills across mediums, proactive attitude, and willingness to network and generate leads.

Photography: Ability to take candid and portrait photos using natural lighting; experience with flash and studio lighting is a plus.

Customer Relations: Ability to maintain client communication and records via CRM.

Administration: Experience creating content for web and social media platforms.

Experience: Work experience during or after university; internships in video production are desirable.

Qualifications: Educated to 'A' level standard; a degree in Film and TV Production or similar is a plus.

Residency: Within commuting distance of Barnsley or willing to relocate.

Driving License: Full UK license, insured, roadworthy, and MOT’d car ownership.
