The role

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to join our video team and help translate complex energy and economic concepts into compelling visual narratives. This role requires both technical expertise in video production and the curiosity to understand and effectively communicate high-level subject matter. The ideal candidate combines creative thinking with quick learning abilities and has an interest in energy or economics.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce high-quality videos covering complex energy software, market trends, and economic analysis, managing the complete post-production workflow including video editing, audio editing, and colour grading.
  • Create engaging motion graphics and animations to illustrate technical concepts and data, developing visual storytelling approaches that make complex information accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with our research team to ensure technical accuracy while maintaining audience engagement, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders to understand complex concepts.
  • Maintain consistent brand standards across all video content and optimise video content for various platforms and distribution channels.
  • Develop and refine pacing strategies to create well-structured, engaging narratives that effectively communicate high-level energy and economic concepts.
  • Support filming and camera work as needed, contributing to the full video production process from concept to final delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional video editing experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical and creative expertise, particularly in motion graphics and animation using After Effects or comparable software.
  • Proficiency in professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Davinci,or similar) with strong skills in audio editing, colour grading, and post-production workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field, or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated continuous learning and ability to work with complex subject matter.
  • Quick learner with creative problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented approach to technical execution and brand consistency.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborative work and genuine curiosity about energy markets, economics, or technology sectors.
  • Experience creating educational or explanatory content is highly desirable.

Additional Skills That Stand Out

  • Filming and camera experience including video production, camera operation, and lighting.
  • Familiarity with additional tools such as Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D software.
  • Previous experience working with technical or complex subject matter.
