Job summary

Strathmore College is seeking a Vice Principal to join our senior leadership team. You will drive high standards of education, wellbeing, safeguarding, and excellence to ensure every learner achieves meaningful outcomes and progresses toward positive futures.

You will lead improvement and quality assurance, modeling inclusive practice within a safe, nurturing environment. Interviews are scheduled for 29th and 30th September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent.
  • Experience in leadership within education - driving excellent learner outcomes, quality and improvement.
  • Expertise in safeguarding, SEND and inclusive practices within education.
  • A recognised leadership qualification - NPQSL, NPQH or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Principal in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the college.
  • Leading improvement, self‑evaluation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Driving excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and learner outcomes.
  • Promoting effective safeguarding, wellbeing, behaviour, and attendance practices.
  • Monitoring learner progress and implementing interventions to maximise positive outcomes.
  • Leading, developing, and inspiring colleagues - fostering positivity and high-performance.
  • Building strong partnerships with families, employers, commissioners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and organisational requirements.
  • Deputising for the Principal - providing visible leadership across the college as required.

We are seeking an exceptional Vice Principal to join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will drive high standards of education, wellbeing, safeguarding, and excellence - ensuring every learner can achieve meaningful outcomes and progress towards positive future pathways. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every student experiences purposeful, structured, and aspirational learning tailored to their individual strengths and needs within a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment through collaborative partnerships with colleagues, families and external stakeholders.


Interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th September 2026.

About The College

Strathmore college is an SEN college for students aged 16 to 25. What makes us different is that each of our learners work on a completely individual programme which is specifically structured to support them into employment and to gain an increased level of independence as they prepare for adulthood. Good links with employers enables learners to develop skills in the workplace to support their transition.


The Strathmore College building itself acts as a central hub from which a vast range of community-based learning takes place. Community-based learning is central to our ethos, with learners engaging in a lot of practical, hands‑on activities and work-based learning.

About You

You'll need to have...



  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent.

  • Experience in leadership within education - driving excellent learner outcomes, quality and improvement.

  • Expertise in safeguarding, SEND and inclusive practices within education.


It's Ideal (but Not Essential) To Have...


  • A recognised leadership qualification - NPQSL, NPQH or equivalent.

  • Experience within a specialist education, SEND or post-16/college setting.
