Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Vice President-level Software Engineer for The Core Engineering in Birmingham, UK. You will join a centralized engineering group delivering platforms, data solutions, and analytics across core functions, collaborating with Risk, Controls, Compliance, and Finance teams.

You will own end-to-end features in Agile teams, design architectures, and drive data modelling for large financial datasets while leveraging cloud and modern AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a numerate/technical discipline.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Strong analysis and design skills with data structures, algorithms, and performance considerations.
• Hands-on programming in Java and/or Python.
• Excellent communication with technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and own systems that produce the firm’s regulatory submissions to global regulators.
• Take features end to end in an Agile team from requirements to run.
• Produce technical designs, testing strategies and implementation plans.
• Turn regulatory requirements into workflows, data requirements and specifications for Finance stakeholders.
• Build reusable solutions and identify opportunities to collaborate across divisions.
• Contribute to data modelling and curation for large-scale financial datasets.
