My client, a leading global bank are looking for a VP to join their Infrastructure and Energy Finance team.

The team advises clients with respect to their debt financing needs, arranges and structures debt financing as mandated lead arranger, cross sells other products of the bank, acts as coverage for certain clients and monitors its exposure to transactions on its book.

The team is in charge of execution and origination support for new deals, in close cooperation with other teams.

Job purpose

As a Vice President, you will be accountable for ensuring excellence on all deliverables related to marketing, executing and regulation within their business area. You will support the Director and Managing Director, co-ordinate junior colleagues and will handle complex analyses with autonomy.

Key responsibilities

Acting as a senior team member with substantial experience. This will include delivering, with appropriate supervision where required, tasks such as:

  • Managing day to day execution of deal activity across Energy, Resources & Infrastructure EMEA, ensuring efficient execution of the business and transactions. Responsible for full execution of arranging new deals (due diligence, financial modelling, term sheet negotiation, credit proposal drafting, finance documentation review), under the supervision of a senior team member and in close cooperation with the relevant Sector team;
  • Ensuring quality and timely preparation of all materials required for deal preparation
  • Supporting and oversees juniors with origination efforts as required (research, client presentations/pitches, screening memos) and actively coordinate with the relevant sector team and any relevant stakeholders
  • Lead pitch process from start to finish, participate in and where appropriate, lead client meetings (in relation to both marketing and execution) either jointly or on a sole basis;
  • Gives consideration to client’s business needs and identifies new business opportunities;
  • Execute financing and advisory mandates
  • Interact with the relevant stakeholders (RISK, Syndicate, GM, Corporate Finance, Industry Group, Coverage) as appropriate;
  • Where necessary, assist in the KYC on-boarding processes
  • Interact directly with clients and with other advisors (lawyers, co-advisors, etc) at an appropriate level; and
  • Ensure handover of the responsibility for new deals to the Portfolio team
  • Applies knowledge to perform complex task sand solve complex issues
  • Manages workstreams and ensures the quality of deliverables.
  • Influences and supports members of the team. Acts as a point of escalation for more junior staff,
  • Manages relationships with internal stakeholders and clients independently and lead conversations

Experience required:

  • Educated to degree level, and holds professional qualifications
  • In depth knowledge of the Infrastructure and Energy Project Finance space
  • Experience working on renewables transactions
  • Strong financial modeling skills, as you will need to oversee juniors in this role and the interview process includes a modeling test
  • Proven experience in the execution of high profile arranging and/or advisory mandates
  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
