A leading company in energy publishing seeks a Vice President for Analytics to drive strategic growth and product development in a rapidly expanding sector. With a focus on commodity forecasting and analytics, this role involves senior-level decision-making and overseeing a diverse team while supporting innovative solutions to enhance client offerings.
Vice President (Global) – Analytics
(Commodity & Energy Markets)
Holborn, London, UK.
Argus is where smart people belong and where they can grow. We answer the challenge of illuminating markets and shaping new futures.
The Analytics & Consulting team is part of Argus Media — the largest independent energy publisher in the world. We provide clients with customised analysis, research, data and commentary services on international energy markets. Our work is firmly focused on markets — their structure, logistics and economics. Analytics & Consulting draws on Argus’ key strengths — energy markets expertise, global networks and proprietary databases — in order to deliver real client value.
The team has two divisions. Analytics produces a range of subscription-based forecasting products, which provide an outlook for market fundamentals and price over the short and long term, for many of the commodities Argus covers. The Consulting side undertakes tailor-made commissioned assignments for a wide variety of clients and across various sectors including oil & gas, chemicals, fertilizers, hydrogen, biofuels and energy transition solutions.
What we’re looking for
The Analytics part of the business has grown substantially over recent years, becoming a large portfolio that delivers significant revenue to the business, enjoying growth of 20%+ for successive years. We believe there is more to come, through enhancement of existing services and development of new products. There is also opportunity to look at new delivery channels and extend the use of Data Science and AI to add value for customers.
To support the future growth of the portfolio, we are now looking for someone who can act as the overall lead for these services, working with individual teams to drive forward our strategy, prioritise opportunities and provide direction and support to implementation. The role will work with other functions to ensure there is consistency in approach, fostering an environment in which innovation can flourish.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for performance and play a key role in promoting the products internally and externally. They will also support Argus in building its brand and commercial presence in the market, working alongside other functions of the business to achieve these aims.
This is a senior level role and will report directly to the Global Head of Analytics & Consulting, with a team of 7-8 direct reports and a total team of approx. 60 globally.
